I used to actually hate design work. I thought it wasn’t for me. But then I realized I was just working on the wrong things that I didn’t care about. Having a guiding principle in life towards some great long term goal made me realize I like design work as long as it’s for something I care about. Right now those things are bitcoin and nostr so work feels like play. Plus, great people motivate you to be better. When everyone is at the top of their game you’d hate to disappoint them. I think about this often and it’s probably a strong motivator.

Not regular but whenever I feel like I need one. I optimize for most productive stretches of time. Design is part grind and part creative. You can force the grind but you can’t force creative. Ideas come at random times too and you sometimes do most of the work in your mind right after waking up or doing some totally random thing.
