My in-laws are in there 60s still working physical labor jobs and living paycheck to paycheck. They plan to rely on social security until it runs out. It’s awful to think many people are in this situation. Your story gives me hope to start setting aside some Bitcoin savings in their name that they would have left in dollars anyways so they can retire some day

Aggressive\n2. Extremely aggressive \n3. Dave Ramsey rice and beans \n\nShe chose number 3.\n\nOver the next 4 years she rode her bike to work everyday. Watered down her lemonade. Spent nothing on herself. Walked dogs for extra income. Took weekend shifts at the preschool. Showed up early. Stayed late and against all odds was able to save 12k a year on a salary of only 27k.\n\nI set up a couple retirement accounts for her and whenever she would scratch $1,000 together she would give it to me and I would smash buy GBTC or MSTR.\n\nMy mother in law has never invested a day in her life and I didn’t want the news or some boomer friend to freak her out, so my wife and I just tell her she’s invested in “the market” 😂 \n\nWhen Bitcoin (the market) is doing good, we tell her and when it’s not we just… don’t tell her lol \n\nSo she’s effectively shielded from the emotional volatility of hodling. Which makes her a very good hodler.\n\nFast forward to today. \n\nI helped her retire from the preschool. She is now living with us and helping look after her grandchildren.\n\nShe went from being near suicidal. My wife and I were legitimately concerned about her mental health. Holy shit, you're my doppelganger! Going through that exact process right now. It's the emotional side of things that's truly trying, especially on her. The stress of losing your house, your life of 40 years, and the realization that you've been betrayed and made a fool of. We just moved her into her new apartment but it was quite the downsize. The adjustment period will take time, and worse yet, the divorce won't be finalized until next year. The enemy within really did a number on our family.
