I prefer self-hosting Git. Those options are more mature than most Nostr options, and with federation being implemented in Forgejo (which is a perfect use case for federated protocols) I see that it is the best option. I am considering implementing Nostr sign-in as an external IdP if the need arises.

Haha, nah it's an Android app that runs in the background and pulls nostr events and shows you notifications - basically push notifications, which typically haven't been something that works well with current Android clients
