Gracias a este pequeño libro que me recomendó un compi de @BitcoinTuesday_ he ordenado mejor alguna idea que es fundamental para entender la importancia de la minería en Bitcoin. Más allá de que con la minería se “acuñan” las nuevas monedas, los nodos mineros realizan una de las funciones más importantes del ecosistema Bitcoin. Un brevísimo resumen.👇 Yan Pritzker explica de forma clara y sencilla como Satoshi solucionó el problema de hacer un registro contable en un sistema distribuido descentralizado en el que no sea necesario un agente de confianza (trustless). -Este es un problema al que ya se enfrentaba la informática con cualquier sistema distribuido en lo que se conoce como “El problema de los generales bizantinos”.- El ingenio de Satoshi ideó un sistema de lotería.🤔 Un minero puede participar en esa lotería para ganarse el derecho a hacer el registro de transacciones y de paso ganar las nuevas monedas generadas. Para ello tendrá que hacer un gasto importante de energía en lo que se conoce como Prueba de Trabajo. Esto convierte a bitcoin en dinero duro (sound money). Los nodos validarán el bloque presentado por el nodo minero en un sistema asimétrico, es decir, para el minero es muy difícil encontrar el “número ganador” de la lotería, pero para el nodo validador es muy sencillo comprobar que la información incluida en el bloque está en regla. Este sistema para la creación del registro contable distribuido de Bitcoin (Blockchain) junto con otros procedimientos del protocolo se alinean con incentivos virtuosos entre todos los agentes con una afinación muy precisa que permite a Bitcoin funcionar de forma autónoma y anárquicamente ordenada. ¿Cómo te quedas?
