MY FEED IS A VEO3 JUMPSCARE 🤯

In the last few months I have made great progress with nostrmeet.me. I even went so far (too far?) as to submit a PR to nostr:npub1z5tgz0p4rzkaxapjfn0jpph7zmtyldgj63r50plp7q0v4q7kklmqs249qq for gift wrapped direct messages … because, nobody wants to leave “cookie crumbs” of personal metadata behind when onboarding people in person. https://github.com/nostr-dev-kit/ndk/pull/327 But it turns out OpenSats was not impressed, and denied my application (again) for funding social onboarding. Never got around to applying for HRF. I’m kinda over begging. As of today, the app is in a bit of disarray. Preparing for the MVP release “scan my QR to DM me with a move in ready account on Nostr”… well I didn’t get finished before the LV conference last week. And now I’m switching gears (yet again) because a guy has to be paid … at least this guy. No complaints, but I’ve discovered that people will pay more readily for solving their immediate problems … and onboarding might just be the kind of problem that is always someone else’s problem? I dunno. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyhow… I’m still focused on onboarding, but am pivoting to onboarding businesses to build apps on Nostr. I think I have an angle to solve for the “chicken and egg” problem of growing the network of users … without enough users on the network. Stay tuned for more on this, and how my work on nostrmeet.me will be incorporated (and possibly even funded directly) by providing business solutions for Nostr.

during social recovery setup, your bitkey app encrypts your phone key using your friend’s public key. only their phone can decrypt it. let me explain it in a bit more detail.... here’s the flow: 1) you invite a trusted contact 2) their bitkey app creates an asymmetric keypair 3) their public key is sent to your app 4) your phone key is encrypted with that public key 5) the encrypted key is stored in your cloud 6) their private key stays on their device... optionally backed up to their cloud but never to block (!) during recovery: 1) you initiate it on a new phone & log into your cloud 2) you ask your trusted contact to help, they enter a code you give them (!) 3) their app decrypts the intermediate key and returns it 4) your app then decrypts your phone key... now you’ve got 1 of 2 5) from there, you use delay & notify with a new hardware to get the second key so yes: your phone key is shared encrypted to your friend’s public key but only they can decrypt it AND only when you request their help. block never has the key... only facilitates communication & coordination. that’s the whole point of this setup: you choose the people you trust. no seed phrases, no central custody, no backdoors - just multiple paths to recover. this document might be helpful for more context as well: https://support.bitkey.world/hc/en-us/article_attachments/33164661348500
