In the last few months I have made great progress with nostrmeet.me. I even went so far (too far?) as to submit a PR to nostr:npub1z5tgz0p4rzkaxapjfn0jpph7zmtyldgj63r50plp7q0v4q7kklmqs249qq for gift wrapped direct messages … because, nobody wants to leave “cookie crumbs” of personal metadata behind when onboarding people in person. https://github.com/nostr-dev-kit/ndk/pull/327 But it turns out OpenSats was not impressed, and denied my application (again) for funding social onboarding. Never got around to applying for HRF. I’m kinda over begging. As of today, the app is in a bit of disarray. Preparing for the MVP release “scan my QR to DM me with a move in ready account on Nostr”… well I didn’t get finished before the LV conference last week. And now I’m switching gears (yet again) because a guy has to be paid … at least this guy. No complaints, but I’ve discovered that people will pay more readily for solving their immediate problems … and onboarding might just be the kind of problem that is always someone else’s problem? I dunno. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyhow… I’m still focused on onboarding, but am pivoting to onboarding businesses to build apps on Nostr. I think I have an angle to solve for the “chicken and egg” problem of growing the network of users … without enough users on the network.
