🛠️ BUILDING LOCALWORx | WHY I BELIEVE IN THIS PROJECT Over the past few weeks, I’ve been quietly building something that means a lot to me - both professionally and personally. ✅ LocalWorx.io is a decentralized platform designed to REVIVE local economies through peer-powered promotion, in-kind value exchange, and Bitcoin rewards. 💡 Think: Fiverr ➡️ Craigslist ➡️ Lightning ➡️ Nostr — but rooted in your neighborhood, not Silicon Valley. 🇺🇸 America’s economy has become fragile. Local businesses are being replaced by big-box conglomerates. Middle-class America has been hollowed out. 🔒 Meanwhile, technocratic control over commerce and speech is tightening. "Digital Sovereignty" and "Economic Autonomy" aren’t just buzzwords - they're becoming survival tools for this new age we've sleep-walked into. These awakenings have become personal pillars for me and were major reasons why I left my previous career to pursue a more technically dexterous path. 🎯 With LocalWorx.io, we’re aiming to: - 🗣️ Take back our slice of the influencer economy — we are ALL influencers to the people who matter most to us. Main St should benefit, not Wall St - 🔁 Help small businesses run grassroots promo campaigns by trading services for exposure (especially when cash is tight) - ⚡ Eliminate financial toll booths by paying promoters in Bitcoin via the Lightning Network - 🌐 Ensure posts live forever on Nostr, outside the grip of any centralized platform - 🛍️ Enable a resale marketplace for earned rewards, letting users flip perks into Bitcoin 🧠 The tech behind it: - Built a modular Next.js frontend with dynamic shopping cart support - Integrated a PostgreSQL backend for mission-aligned, non-public app data - Deployed my own Nostr relay on Azure using Nostream to store forever posts - Created relay-aware endpoints to fetch decentralized events across the Nostr network - UI flows live now: Home, About, Services Directory, Marketplace, Promoter Hub, and Cart 💻 My journey to this point: After years of supporting trading desks in the financial industry, I left to lean hard into tech - exploring Analytics and WebDev before earning my A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications, and currently pursuing my B.S. in Cybersecurity. I'm passionate about bridging secure systems with real-world empowerment.
