I think it’s about being able to out the rocket back together, making repairs, and not having to move it for its launch. Sure they could land it somewhere else, but then how much does it cost to get back to the tower? Also it’s just massive and tall. The more weight and height, the wider and stronger the feet have to be for it not to crunch on landing or get blown over. Thats what comes immediately to mind. It can literally just launch right back from where it is in a few weeks turn around the way they’ve designed it here.
