Returned to Connaught Water, Epping Forest this week with my buddy Mark. It’s a grey cloudy day so I wasn’t expecting much but being out and about in nature was reward enough. What literally brightened our visit was seeing the Mandarins on a small lake island. The males are in full colour and posturing strutting about on the bank in front of the females.
