The set sees Nirvana playing some of their material, and covering The Vasilines, David Bowie , Leadbelly, and Meat Puppets . The Meat Puppets' Cris and Curt Kirkwood would join Nirvana on a few songs during the performance. The unplugged album debuted at number 1 on the album charts. It was released seven months after the death of Kurt Cobain. From this admins perspective, I think Nirvana Unplugged is the best in the MTV unplugged series. Followed by Alice in Chains, Eric Clapton, and Neil Young.
