The vegan movement, and the proclivity for profit at all costs, have negatively affected the general populace in interestingly insidious ways.
One relates to gelatin consumption.
Gelatin is a health food. It is fuel for your skin, gut, and joints, and is vital for general physiology.
As per usual, humans are brilliant and have made gelatin palatable so that everyone wants some, often as a sweet dessert.
However, in order to cater to vegans, jelly/jello producers now create products that do not contain gelatin . . . They have weird gelling agents instead.
Even the products that do have gelatin, often have very little as the gelling agents are largely substituted.
A partial solution might be to buy some gelatin/collagen granules and start playing around.
I like to make jelly/jello with a ratio of 1 cup of coconut water to 1 tablespoon of collagen granules. I then add however much honey I feel like for extra sweetness—perhaps a teaspoon or two per cup of solution.
Marshmallows are another great way to send gelatin in.
One of the amino acids in gelatin is glycine, which is calming.
Kids used to administer glycine to themselves because it was yum.
Now, we can instead treat these hyperactive kids with amphetamines.
What could possibly go wrong.
"My daughter will have an almond babyccino with no marshmallow, thanks."
